Mission Statement

Orthodox Christian Campus Ministry is an organization that offers students a supplement to the secularism of academia, providing a safe space to pray, enjoy Christian fellowship, while bridging the campus to the Church throughout their collegiate journey. It is an organization which looks to center itself on Christ, follows in the ancient faith and hopes to support the surrounding community by embodying the spirit of the Church on campus, bridging students to the greater church community. Members are encouraged to integrate their beliefs as Christians into their lives as students by promoting cultural awareness, tolerance and fellowship, while nurturing their spiritual, emotional, mental and social needs. This organization is neither restricted to a singular race nor particular religion. Members are also encouraged to become persons of consequence and active members of their local and campus communities.

Orthodox Christian Leaders Conference

Taking from our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ, leadership training (discipleship) is vital in the life of the Christian. College is a great opportunity to learn these skills as you serve on campus ministry executive boards to equip you with the necessary tools before you become church leaders in efforts to be more proactive in our greater church ministry and to become persons of consequence.

It is, therefore, vital to instill the following areas of discipline, that are deeply rooted in the ancient orthodox faith and values in this stage of their collegiate journey:

  • Biblical leadership qualities and values

  • Team building and spiritual fellowship (koinonia)

  • Effective communication

  • Conflict resolution

  • Professional development and evangelism strategies

In efforts to motivate, encourage and discipline college youth ministry board leaders in the one body of Christ, the annual leadership conference aims to provide a training program for student board members that would include lectures and workshops in the areas noted above, thereby providing a network of support with like-minded individuals, the sharing of ideas and information, while building leadership skills that not only benefit the student on an individual level (campus ministry or future career path), but also the greater church community and Body of Christ as the future church, whether as a board member, servant/deacon/priest, or general congregant member. This conference is held annually on the first Friday of the month of August.
